Upward Bound (UB) provides intensive academic support to participants for college entrance. To be admitted into the program, students must be between the ages of 13 and 19 and enrolled in high school. UB participants are students who are planning to go to college but need services in order to accomplish their aspirations. The overall goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education. Upward Bound programs also provide a six-week summer residential experience on a college campus to acclimate and prepare students for college entrance.
